Inspired by the book Adoption Not an Option, The Big Whiteout is a powerful feature film currently in development. At its heart, The Big Whiteout tells a moving and suspenseful true story. When a four-year-old Métis girl Eugenea is taken from her Indigenous family and placed into a series of white foster homes, she faces the trauma of separation and loss at an early age. Years later, as a mother of four, Eugenea is determined to reclaim her identity, her culture, and the bond with her adopted brother Josh. But to do so, she must confront painful memories and navigate a system designed to keep her past buried.

Her fight for truth takes a devastating turn when she finally obtains her government records—only to find that crucial evidence has been erased with whiteout. What lengths must she go to in order to break the silence, expose the truth, and reunite her family?
